Tamil cultural event aids Rotary polio fight

On Saturday, October 17th, almost 50 performers joined the Tamil Cultural Association of Waterloo Region in a cultural night at the University of Waterloo's Humanities Theatre.
The music, dancing and celebration by south Indian and Sri Lankan performers helped in the fight against polio by raising more than $500.
The funds will be directed to Rotary International's polio eradication efforts which began more than 20 years ago, and which have led to 99% eradication of polio around the globe.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Centers for Disease Control, and the World Health Organization have all joined in the worldwide campaign to end polio.
