The Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunrise, supported by CIBC, presented a $1,000 scholarship to a local high school student at the Bell Business Awards hosted by the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce on March 20, 2008.

The Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunrise established The Rotary Scholarship Award which is awarded annually to post-secondary students in the Region who have demonstrated a combination of academic merit, exemplary humanitarian service and established financial need.

She has volunteered with Rock the Mill festival and "Food Not Bombs", an organization that serves food to homeless people. Most recently, Kathryn has become involved with Free The Children and Leader's Today which are sister organizations. She has worked tirelessly to raise money to help build a school in Kenya and this summer plans to spend three weeks in Kenya to help with the construction.
