Over 70 Friends of Rotary, former Rotarians and recipients of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary`s highest honour) joined together for a breakfast at the Galt Country Club. The annual event celebrates the work of The Rotary Foundation, and invites a guest speaker to share their experience in relation to the foundation. Guest speaker The Honourable Justice Sharon M. Nicklas, spoke of the power of influencing lives. As a Rotary Youth Exchange student to Sweden, she was inspired to help others.
 
Justice Nicklas was called to the bar in 1994 and has served as an assistant Crown prosecutor in Hamilton, Brantford and Waterloo Region. She was appointed deputy Crown attorney in Waterloo Region in 2003 and became acting Crown attorney in March 2007. In the same year, Nicklas was honoured with the Ministry of the Attorney General's Excelsior Award for innovation for her work developing the mental-health court which opened in 2005. In 2007 she became a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice.
